Vinyasa Yoga

Vinyasa means “Breath synchronized movement.” In this class, we will use flowing sequences and sun salutations to warm the body, giving ourselves the ability to reach new levels of strength, power, flexibility and peace in our poses and practice. The strength of Vinyasa is in it’s diversity. There is no set series or philosophy that teachers must follow, so there is a lot of room for the individual personality of each teacher and each student to shine through, making this a great class for all levels of experience and fitness. Be prepared to work and sweat through a “Moving meditation” followed by relaxation.

Yin Yoga

Yin yoga is a meditative practice of long-held postures, (not standing) designed to compliment the more Yang or Vinyasa style yoga practice. We hold each posture for 3 – 5 minute intervals and relax the muscles. This assists the body in becoming more flexible and energizing the organ meridians. Suitable for almost all levels of students, This Deep Stretch Class (Yin) is a perfect complement to the dynamic and muscular (yang) styles of yoga that emphasize internal heat, and the lengthening and contracting of our muscles. It will generally target the deep connective tissues of the hips, pelvis, and spine.

This class is for those who are new to yoga, new to vinyasa flow, or need a slower pace. Appropriate for absolute beginner students as well as for more seasoned practitioners who want to refine their technique and refresh their understanding of the fundamentals. Through mindful work and attention to the breath, students will learn safe alignment in basic postures and sun salutations. Students will build strength, flexibility, balance, and awareness to prepare to enter other classes safely. Each class incorporates poses (asana), breathing exercises (pranayama), and guided meditation.

Restorative Aerial Yoga

We use a soft fabric hammock that supports up to a 1000 pound to move through a series of restorative poses that will rejuvenate and deeply relax your nervous system. Rest provides the body an opportunity to renew and heal. Countless studies have proven the physical and emotional benefits of this. The hammock will be hung close to the floor so that students can use the prop to either partially or fully support the weight of the body. The support of the fabric will allow you to move into postures that might otherwise be unavailable to your body type. Come and say bye to the winter blues and welcome the lovely spring with a long savasana as you are cocooned in our hammock. Stay afterwards for wine and cheese!
