Ulysses is a yoga teacher with a unique passion for movement. His movement practice was originally directed by a dynamic and competitive wrestling career, supplemented with training in martial arts, specifically Judo. During college, his athletic career was halted by a spinal fracture, which resulted in two surgeries.
Over the years, he used therapeutic yoga techniques to regain mobility and strength, while attaining his masters and law degrees, as well as his Yoga Teaching certification. He has gone on to extensively study Hatha/Vinyasa yoga, Acrobatic yoga, Aerial Yoga, SUP yoga and more. He currently acts as a trainer/mentor in the Om My Yoga Academy 200 and 500 level Yoga School in Pennsylvania, and teaches yoga classes and workshops. He brings a sense of playfulness, compassion and lighthearted insight to everything he does. Ulysses is an E-RYT-500.
I believe that everyone can practice yoga. You are probably already practicing yoga and don’t even know it. I want to help you discover how by focusing on your breath, putting intention into your movements and living a life in harmony with the true nature of your being, you can live your yoga! Yoga is many things. It’s therapy for our stressed bodies and a salve for our over-stimulated minds. It’s a way to express your deepest emotions and get in touch with your Self. And all it takes is intention–both on and off the mat. My personal yoga journey started in 2008, after the birth of my second son. I needed a way to find some peace and quiet with very boisterous little boys in my life. Yoga was the one thing that kept me going each day–and still does. My life is very active, but yoga brings me to a place of peace within my “monkey mind”. I’ve been teaching vinyasa yoga since 2010 and now I’m also assisting teaching others how to become yoga teachers with Om My Yoga Academy. But I’m still a student, and still learning how to find balance in my life. Along with yoga and my family, I consider cooking and nutrition to be one of my greatest passions. I’ve been a vegetarian since 1989 and vegan since 2001. Through the practical knowledge I’ve gained, I love to help others find greater wellness through diet and yoga. Carla is an E-RYT-500.
Erica first fell in love with yoga after taking her first class at a local studio a few years ago while home from college on break. “I had previously tried to practice yoga watching instructional videos on my own and always grew frustrated with the lack of instruction and the fact that I could never copy what they were doing on screen.” After continuing her practice for about a year, Erica became inspired to teach on her own one day. “I wanted to teach relaxing classes and let people know that yoga is for everyone, and that the poses don’t need to be as advanced as you may see on a video.” Erica earned her 200-HR certificate in March 2014 and earned her RYT-500 in 2016 from Om My Yoga Academy .
Rose Freed was born and raised in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and currently resides in Mechanicsburg. Her love for movement started at a young age with a strong background in ballet and modern dance. She graduated from Capital Area School for the Arts and then went on to receive her Bachelors of Fine Arts in dance from Rutgers University. After a brief stint in New York City she decided to come back to her Pennsylvania roots and pursue a more intensive yoga practice. Rose quickly realized that a yoga teaching career would marry her love for movement with health and wellness. She has since completed her 200 RYT at Om My Yoga Academy and is very excited to have joined the Om My Yoga team!
I discovered my passion for yoga in 2009 and decided that it was something that I wanted to share with other people. Yoga brought a sense of peace, confidence, and focal awareness to my life that I didn’t even realize I was lacking. Between the breath work and the asanas, I began discovering who I wanted to be and represent. Life led me to Etowah Valley Yoga School in Cartersville, Georgia where I completed my 500 hour certification in May of 2014. I am now in the final stages of completing my Professional Yoga Therapy Certification. My goal is to help people feel more connected to their inner truth, confidence, and find the strength to create the life that harvests happiness for them. I am devoted to creating practices that cultivate balance, compliment athletic capabilities, promote healing, and empower each student to connect with their own inner Self, on and off the mat.
My yoga teaching philosophy is that everyone deserves a chance to fully relax in their everyday lives. My own yoga practice didn’t stick until I started seeing it as a self care practice instead of just something I did as exercise. Once I tapped into yoga’s ability to relieve stress, yoga became a way of healing and an inspiration to live better. I graduated from Om My Yoga Academy in 2014, feeling that I had truly found my calling as a yoga teacher. In my classes, I give students permission to indulge in their own best self care through restorative poses, Yoga Nidra (yogic sleep), and mindfulness practices. I especially love helping new students clear their minds and find a sense of stillness for the first time in Savasana, the final relaxation pose. Om My Yoga has encouraged and supported my yoga journey, so I’m thrilled to be a part of the Om Team to do the same for others!

Maria LaRue is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-500) through Yoga Alliance.
She accomplished this goal by graduating in March 2014 from the Yoga On Chocolate 200-hour Teacher Training Program (Registered Yoga School, YOCTT) located in Hershey, Pennsylvania, which training was focused on the Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga style.
In December 2016, Maria completed a 300-hour advanced yoga training at Om My Yoga Academy located in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania.
Maria began practicing yoga in April 2012. She became curious as to why teachers would cue certain things and started to enhance her practice with yoga workshops which led her to a yoga teacher training program.
Her journey continues by sharing with others the benefits of yoga both on and off the mat. She continues to participate in workshops and in October 2015 completed a yin yoga teacher training program at Just Plain Yoga in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania with Corina Lynn Benner of Wake Up Yoga in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
In May 2016, Maria completed a restorative yoga teacher training at Freedom Yoga/Barefoot Yoga & Wellness Studio in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania with Rachel May from Bucks County, Pennsylvania and is excited to offer the benefits of restorative yoga to her students.
Through her practice Maria has become more present and is excited to give back to the yoga community. Although her day job is a paralegal for an exciting law firm, her passions include spending time with her husband, traveling, reading, meditating and yoga which has given her a sense of balance.
